Sealing Material Requirements in the National Standard
Sealing material is the key factor determining the service life of water pipes. The lifespan of the sealing material determines the lifespan of the pipeline system. Meeting the National Standard requirements is the key point of sealing material control.

The National Standard has made significant adjustments to sealing material requirements, such as:

Standard Reference: European Community EN681-1:1998;

Material Selection: Chlorinated butyl rubber and EPDM rubber are recommended;

Added Items: Compression set for 24 hours at 125°C; compression set in water;

Inspection Items: 70 days at 110°C; ozone resistance test, etc.;

Upgraded Items: Hot air aging; volume change in water, etc.

The establishment of the National Standard has greatly improved the service life of sealing materials. Under the condition of 70°C water temperature, the product can achieve the same lifespan as the building.

Stainless Steel Material Grade
Austenitic stainless steel 0Cr17Ni12Mo2 (316) or 00Cr17Ni14Mo2 (316L) with high corrosion resistance requirements is generally adopted.
Sealing Material Grades: Chlorinated Butyl Rubber (CIIR), EPDM Rubber (EPDM), and Fluororubber (FPM).
